The Orchards Hide

As part of its vegetation restoration project, the Reserve has planted a large area under a variety of fruit trees.  The orchard is already attracting a large birds and animals.

We are in the process of building two side-by-side hides.  

 

The photography hide

 

  • Camera support - each station will have a support with a 3/8 bolt to attach a gimbal

  • Hide seated eyeline height - 1.8 meters (6 foot)

  • Angle of view - both sides, unrestricted

  • Max. participants - 4 persons

  • Backgrounds - secondary forest 

  • Composting toilet - No

  • Bring your own camera and binoculars

  • Comfortable stools with wheels

  • Viewing out of both sides of the hide

  • Refreshments: Cold water

  • Feeder stations replenished each session

Times & Rates:

Morning

  • 7:00am-13.00pm

  • $70 for the hide (Max. 4 persons)

Evening

  • 16:00-19:00 pm

  • $40 for the hide (Max. 4 persons)

With wildlife we can guarantee what you will see and at what day of the day, but typically you can expect to see:

  • Capybara - very early morning

  • Coatis - early morning, afternoon

  • Toucans, parrots - early morning

  • Forest and song birds - all day, but early morning best

  • Agoutis - all day

  • Tanagers - all day

  • Hummingbirds - all day

  • Raptors - all day

  • Butterflies - sunny conditions
